Institute of Banking Personnel Selection, Specialist Officer (IBPS SO) is a national level examination for recruitment of Specialist Officers (SO) in various public sector banks in India. It is conducted by IBPS every year.

IBPS SO is conducted online in two different examination pattern – examination pattern I for Law Officer Scale I/ RajbhashaAdhikariScale I and examination pattern II for IT Officer Scale I/Agricultural Field Officer Scale I/ HR or Personnel Officer Scale I/ Marketing Officer Scale I.

IT Officer

Engineering graduate or a Post-Graduate in Computer Science/ Computer Applications/ Information Technology/ Electronics/ Electronics & Telecommunication/ Electronics & Communication/ Electronics & Instrumentation from any university, institution or board recognised by Govt. of India.

Graduate candidates who have passed DOEACC ‘B’ level can also apply.

Agricultural Field Officer

Graduate in Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Animal Husbandry/ Veterinary Science/ Dairy Science/ Agri. Engineering/ Fishery Science/ Pisciculture/ Agri Marketing & Cooperation/ Cooperation & Banking/ Agro-Forestry

RajbhashaAdhikari

Post-Graduate degree in Hindi with English as one of the subjects at graduation level

OR

Post-Graduate degree in Sanskrit with English and Hindi as subjects at graduation level.

Law Officer

BA LLB degree

Listed advocate with the Bar Council.

HR/ Personnel Officer

Graduate with a full-time Post-Graduate degree or full-time Post-Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management/ Industrial Relations/ Human Resource/ Human Resource Development/ Social Work/ Labour Law

Marketing Officer

Graduate with a full-time MMS (Marketing)/ MBA (Marketing)/ PGDBA/ PGDBM with specialisation in Marketing

Application Details

Candidates interested in applying for the post of Specialist Officer in participating public sector banks should register themselves online for the Common Recruitment Process (CRP) conducted by IBPS on its official website. Applicants must fill in the application form by entering the required information and uploading scanned photograph and signature. 

The application procedure will be completed with the payment of application fee. All candidates are advised to fill-in the application form before the last date.

Counselling/Interview

Based on the CWE score, candidates will be shortlisted and called for an interview by the participating organisation in coordination with nodal banks and IBPS. The candidates will have to download the call letter from the official website of IBPS that will contain information regarding the centre, venue, date and time of interview.

The shortlisted candidates should carry the following original documents and their self-attested copies at the time of the interview. Without these documents, the candidates will not be allowed to appear for the interview.

3. Age proof - Birth Certificate/ Class 10th certificate
4. Photo Identity Proof
5. Marksheets and Educational certificates
6. Caste Certificate for SC/ST/OBC category
7. Disability Certificate
8. Discharge Certificate/ Pension Payment Order and documentary proof of the last rank held
9. No Objection Certificate for Government officials by their last employer
10.  Domicile Certificate
11. Non-Indian citizens to produce Eligibility Certificate issued by Govt. of India

Candidates who have cleared the interview will be provisionally allotted to one of the participating organisations based on their merit and preference.
