Common Admission Test (CAT) is a national level management entrance exam held every year across major cities of the country. On the basis of CAT score and percentile, admissions are granted to the post graduate courses and fellow programmes in Management offered by IIMs and other Management Institutes of India. As of today, over 100 B-Schools in India accept the CAT score. Common Admission Test 2017 will be conducted by IIM Lucknow. CAT 2017 notification was released on July 29, 2017 and this year, it carried no surprises. However, the only thing which was disturbing for the candidates was the CAT 2017 exam date, November 26, 2017, which was clashing with exam date of IIFT 2018 MBA (IB) entrance test.

On August 3, 2017, the IIFT 2018 and CAT 2017 exam date clash issue was resolved by IIFT as it decided to postpone the exam date to December 3 from November 26. This decision actualy was a sigh of relief for lakhs of MBA aspirants willing to appear for both the management entrance exams this year.

CAT 2017 application form released on August 9. CAT exam registration can be processed in online mode only. The form is available on CAT 2017 official website, www.iimcat.ac.in. Last year, more than 2.32 lakh candidates registered for this exam and out of it, around 1.98 lakh actually appeared. This year alo, more than 2 lakh aspirants are expected to apply for IIM CAT 2017 exam.

Not such major changes were noticed in CAT 2016 paper. The marking scheme and the number of questions were pretty much the same and according to the expectation. A single change was noticed in the number of options in each MCQ question, it was increased from four to five.
