Faculty

The Institute faculty base comprises of guest, adjunct, visiting and regular faculty. Experienced guest faculty are usually drawn from industry to provide critical insights on a particular topic/issue in a course or a programme. The core strength of the faculty is formed by regular faculty and a set of committed adjunct faculty (who conduct one or more courses) or visiting faculty (who come for a period ranging from three months to two years), who provide specialised support. Many of whom have been associated with the Institute for several years now. There is a regular flow of faculty from leading foreign institutions. The Institute aims to have a faculty mix of 70% regular and 30% adjunct/visiting in various programmes. The composition of faculty from foreign institutions may be up to 10%, to bring global experience and perspective.

Hostel

The institute has 10 well designed hostels capable of accommodating about 600 students. The classrooms, computer centre, canteen, and all other facilities are within walking distance of the hostel. The students are provided rooms on single occupancy basis. TV and washing machines are provided in every hostel. Facilities for making STD/ISD calls are located within the hostels. The hostels also have facilities for various sports like table tennis, badminton, carrom, chess etc. Other facilities include gymnasium and basic medical facilities. All the hostels rooms have been provided with a LAN connection to cater to the computing needs of the students. Lady students are provided separate accommodation inside the campus.

Classroom

The classrooms at IIMK provide conducive environment needed for learning. We, at IIMK, pro-actively use tools for Technology Enhanced Learning. Considering the above, all the classrooms at IIMK are equipped with all the modern teaching aids needed to support technology enhanced learning. All the classrooms are thus equipped with computers, multimedia projectors and motorized screens, OHPs, Wireless Presenters and other audio-visual tools. In addition to the conventional LAN connectivity in all the classrooms, the classrooms are also Wi-Fi enabled. In addition to the above classrooms, there is a separate high tech room which is equipped with the state-of-the-art ISDN and IP based videoconferencing facilities. We also have a separate Seminar hall with a seating capacity of about 250 that is used for conducting seminars, conferences, culture programmes, students' events and other important events of the institute.

There are more than 250 High End personal computers connected over the campus LAN under some of the latest Network Operating Systems running on some of the latest high-end Itanium and Dual Xeon based Rack Servers. A very high capacity Network Storage facility integrated with an automated data backup and recovery system caters to the data storage requirement of all the users. Network printing facility is available on a wide variety of printers such as Inkjet, Laser, Line and Dot Matrix Printers. All these printers can be accessed from anywhere in the campus.
